Custom Drawing Development
We develop complete fabrication drawings from your concept, sketch, or verbal specification — including dimensions, tolerances, material callouts, and weld symbols as required.
In-house CAD capability that keeps your project moving — from drawing development to flat pattern and format conversion, all at the same facility that fabricates your parts.
Not every project arrives with complete CAD files. Some customers have a sketch or a sample part. Others have drawings in a format our machines can't read, or need a flat pattern developed before we can cut or form a part. Our in-house CAD team handles all of it — eliminating the gap between your design intent and our production equipment.
Because CAD work and fabrication happen at the same facility, the engineer developing your drawing is the same one who will watch the part come off the machine. Errors caught at the drawing stage, not on the floor — and if the part needs a revision, turnaround is measured in hours, not days.
We develop complete fabrication drawings from your concept, sketch, or verbal specification — including dimensions, tolerances, material callouts, and weld symbols as required.
Bring us a sample part or a worn-out component and we'll measure and draw it — producing a CAD file and fabrication drawing that your shop or ours can manufacture from.
We review customer-supplied drawings before cutting starts — flagging geometry, tolerances, or material selections that would create unnecessary fabrication difficulty or cost.
Sheet metal parts require accurate flat patterns before laser cutting or shearing. We develop flat pattern files from 3D models or bend drawings, accounting for material bend allowance.
We convert drawings between common CAD formats — DXF, DWG, STEP, STP, PDF — so your files are compatible with our production equipment and programming systems.
CAD detailing and engineering at AAA Fabrication is performed under our AS9100D and ISO 9001:2015 certified quality management system. Drawing revisions are controlled, customer-supplied documents are registered in our document control system, and all released drawings are traceable through fabrication.
